{Megan & Alastair Johnston} 10 May 2017 {Broadoaks Country House Hotel, Windemere}

I was really looking forward to Megan & Alastair’s Wedding. Having met up with them a few times to talk through the plans and take family photographs I knew it was going to be a brilliant day. The sun shone from start to finish and Broadoaks was the perfect setting to host the day.

I joined Megan and her bridesmaids getting ready in the beautiful lodge as they had their hair and make up done.

The morning flew by and it was soon time for Megan to put on her dress.

Megan had spent lots of time planning all the little details. Her shoes were amazing and were handmade!

I love capturing moments like this. After waiting patiently outside for the girls to finish getting ready Megan’s day made his entrance and saw his beautiful daughter.

In the conservatory guests made there way to their seats and Alastair and the groomsmen waited at the top of the aisle.

When a bride walks hand in hand down the aisle with her dad its one of my favourite moments of the day.

Probably the most nerve-wracking moment which can sometimes be a blur. Capturing these moments is key.

Ollie, Megan and Alastair’s son, was the star of the show. The cutest ring bearer ever!

He did such a good job and enjoyed the wedding day as much as anyone.

Officially Mr & Mrs Johnston!

With live music from Johnathon Patton, guests enjoyed drinks outside while we took photographs in the grounds.

After confetti and congratulations it was time to sit down for the meal and speeches.

The table decorations were wild flowers in rustic boxes and the tables named after local places.

I don’t think the photos do this cake justice. It was huge!

I enjoyed capturing guests at their tables before the speeches began. Apprentice in the making… 🙂

I love capturing the speeches and everyone’s reactions, it really brings back the day and the happiness and laughter that was shared.

As the room was changed over for the evening celebrations this gave us the perfect opportunity for a group photo and throwing of the bouquet.

With the sun dropping in the sky and filtering through the trees I took Megan & Alastair for a walk around the grounds for some extra pictures.

The light was just perfect and the colours of the trees were a perfect backdrop.

With the dancing shoes ready it was time to start the evening entertainment.

Megan and Alastair took to the dance floor for their first dance. Closely followed by their guests.

It’s a pleasure to capture anyone’s wedding day but it felt even more special to be able to share and capture Megan & Alastair’s Day. I went to primary school with Alastair, and taken photographs of them both in 2011 and then before the wedding as a family shoot with Ollie. It has been lovely to capture their story.

Thank you for a lovely day and giving me the opportunity to share it. I hope you look back on your photographs for many years to come and they bring back lots of happy memories.

A big thank you to Katie who second shoot with me too 🙂
