{Mr & Mrs Woodhead} 17 December 2016 {St. Mary’s Church Ambleside & Parish Centre}

Andy & Abbie’s Wedding Day was not only my last Wedding of 2016 but my 100th I have photographed. It was a special day for everyone.

As I joined Abbie with her bridesmaids at Brathay Hall in Ambleside I captured all the little details and girls getting ready. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and Abbie had everything organised.

With hair and make up finished it was time for Abbie to put her dress on, with of course help from her bridesmaids.

After capturing some family photographs I made my way to the church to meet Andy and his Groomsmen. They were doing a stirling job showing guests into the church, braving the cold and foggy weather outside.

Soon after, Abbie arrived with her Dad in their special wedding transport!

All the guests waited patiently inside for the arrival of the bridal party.

It was lovely to capture the excitement, nerves and happiness they both shared.

The service was relaxed and light hearted.

Readings from family and friends made everyone laugh and feel involved.

As I made my way to the back of the church to capture Mr & Mrs Woodhead walking back down the aisle together I was spotted by these cheeky faces!

Officially Mr & Mrs Woodhead!

With an atmospheric foggy backdrop we took some group photographs outside the church.

Before guests made the long journey to the reception 😉

The reception room looked fantastic with lots of little handmade details.

While guests enjoyed champagne and canapés I took Andy & Abbie out to capture some photographs of the two of them.

With a drive along the river and woods planned for photographs we decided to try and get above the cloud and fog and changed the location.

A drive up Kirkstone Pass in the Mountain Rescue vehicle meant this was possible.

I don’t know who was more excited when we parked up and saw the view!

It really was magical and the most perfect setting.

When we returned back into a world of fog it was time for the food and speeches to begin!

I love kids at weddings – can always rely on them to get good photos! 🙂

As the speeches began it gave me the perfect opportunity to capture some natural photos.

We heard lots of entertaining stories!

While the room was being transformed for the evening entertainment it was time for cake and photos!

We started the evening with a first dance from Abbie & Andy but it wasn’t long before their guests joined them on the dancefloor!

Thank you so much to Abbie & Andy for booking me, it was a fantastic day to capture and I’m so glad we decided to venture up Kirkstone for the cloud inversion!

Here’s to my next 100 weddings!
