{Louise & David Vaughan} Watermillock Village Hall, Ullswater {20 August 2016}

Do you remember that really wet day in August? We had flash floods and it rained all day…. Well that was Louise & David’s Wedding day!

Even though the rain was heavy and the wind was howling it didn’t dampen the day. In fact it brought laughter, stories and a day we won’t forget.

I joined Louise and the girls getting ready in Pooley Bridge. Her two little girls entertained us as everyone had their hair and make up done.

The morning flew by and it was soon time for Louise to get into her dress and set off to Watermillock.

However…. after I had arrived at the reception and captured the boys and guests waiting patiently we got a phone call to say the VW Campervan had broken down with half the bridal party.

The best man offered to go and pick up the stranded family while I went back to Louise and her Bridesmaids to pick them up.

They were a little confused when I arrived as they had no method of contact so were totally unaware of the broken down transport!

The next task was getting everyone into my car and safely at the reception!

We had such a laugh as we got blown around and battered by the rain.

If there is ever a perfect time for a selfie it was this moment.

Safely in the car, we recovered and made our way to join the rest of the guests.

David waited patiently entertaining the guests. Everyone was happy socialising and drinking champagne.

Eventually it was time for the bridal party to make their entrance.

Everyone was pleased to see them.

A big cheer for the arrival of Louise and her Dad…

It was a wonderful atmosphere.

ahhh the relief…. 🙂

The ceremony was conducted by Louise from the Ceremony Company. She made the service personal and intimate and it was a pleasure to capture.

Officially Mr & Mrs Vaughan!

Quick trip across the grass to the Reception!

It’s photographs like this that help to sum up the day. It was raining at this point but just look at the smiles on David & Louise’s faces 🙂

Guests enjoyed welcome drinks as they congratulated the happy couple.

We went back into the Marquee for some family photos. It was the perfect setting as we had the background of the trees and fields but managed to stay dry!

For a very brief second the sun tried to fight its way through the clouds! Luckily we managed to capture it.

While the guests stayed warm and dry we took the opportunity to go down to Ullswater for some photographs. I’m so glad we did, as these pictures remind me of the adventure Louise & David had on their wedding day. Thank you to you both for braving the weather and taking the time out to capture them.

Inside the reception it looked AMAZING! Louise and her family had spent the days leading up to the wedding decorating the hall and it was transformed!

So much thought had gone into the little details.

Rebecca from Wedding’s by Annabel did a fantastic job helping the day run smoothly.

Guests began to get seated and it gave me an opportunity to capture some natural photos.

The speeches were great and everyone was entertained!

David had even organised shots for Louise & her Bridesmaids!

Keyvan, David’s Best Man was a star.

Not only did he give a great speech, he drove us to Ullswater for photographs, picked up the bridal party from the broken down vehicle and helped the day run smoothly!

After the speeches we took some family photographs back in the marque.

I just love this one!

Time for the evening celebrations to begin.

It was all going smoothly… Cake Cutting, first dance….

Then the fire alarm went off!!

But that didn’t phase anyone, we kept the party going 🙂

I could tell as I ended my day at Louise & David’s Wedding that they were going to have a brilliant evening.

It was an absolute pleasure to share and capture their day. It will be a day that stays in my mind for a long while, the people, the place, the weather but all in all the perfect day.

Just when I thought the dramas of the day were done, I had to take a de-tour on my way home due to the flooding! We were in a wedding bubble all day and I didn’t realise that there had been so much flooding across the county. I did eventually make it home safe and sound!

Thanks again for choosing me to capture your day.
