{Claire & Simon Hutton} 28 May 2016 {Ambleside Catholic Church & Silverholme, Graythwaite}

So when you pull up to a wedding venue and it looks like this, you know you’re in for a great day!

Claire & Simon chose Silverholme to host their Wedding Reception & got married in Ambleside at the Catholic Church. They had vintage buses to transport guests, Owls to welcome them at their reception, lawn games and a beautiful summer’s day to enjoy it all.

I met with Claire and her family at Silverholme while preparations were under way.

There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and everyone was so lovely and friendly. Champagne flowed & hair and make up began.

The morning passed by so quickly and it was soon time for Claire to put her dress on.

I love this moment when Claire’s Dad see’s her all ready, such a special moment to capture.

Soon after I had arrived at the church the vintage buses dropped off all the guests. It was a lovely idea and addition to the day.

Arriving in true style in a beautiful vintage car.

Claire looked stunning!

Simon waited patiently at the top of the alter for his bride.

The church was full and again had a wonderful atmosphere.

The priest held a wonderful service and we heard readings by friends and singing by a family member.

Officially Mr & Mrs Hutton!

As Claire and Simon made their way back down the aisle as Husband and Wife guests made their way out of the church to congratulate the happy couple.

We managed to do a great group shot on the steps outside too.

Time to head back to Silverholme to start the afternoon celebrations!

The setting was just perfect and Claire & Simon had spent lots of time planning all the little details.

Flip flops & blankets for the evening, a gin bar, and lawn games to entertain everyone!

Inside the marque looked just as good decorated with flowers in vintage crates.

The owls were another lovely touch and guests enjoyed handling them while reception drinks were served.

A photograph with the buses was a must….

….and of course a kiss on the back seat!

Time for some family photographs with the beautiful backdrop of Windermere Lake behind.

I took Claire & Simon for a little walk down to the lake shore for some photographs of the two of them.

We were even joined by two ducks who were keen to be included in the wedding and photographs!

Back at the reception and guests enjoyed games, catching up with friends and admiring the view!

Time for the speeches and a perfect opportunity for me to capture some natural photos!

Each way I looked everyone had a smile on their face!

The Gin bar was open and the band were ready to begin.

It was great to capture everyone on the dance floor.

I had a truly brilliant time photographing Claire & Simon’s Wedding Day.

Each wedding is different but I always think the people make it… I shared the day with a lovely bunch of people who were so welcoming and kind.

Thanks again for allowing me to share & capture your day.

As I drove home that evening, I stopped just down the road at Hawkshead to capture the sun setting on what was a fantastic day.
