{Mr & Mrs Houlden} 30 April 2016 {Ulverston Parish Church & Cartmel Racecourse}

As soon as I arrived at Lois’s family home I felt welcome. The whole house looked beautiful as Lois and her bridesmaids enjoyed a relaxing morning getting ready.

Already I could tell the time and effort that had gone into planning each little detail. The flowers especially looked stunning.

Lois’s dress hung beautifully upstairs.

Only her mum and maid of honour had seen it, so it was a lovely surprise later in the morning when she came downstairs all ready.

Everywhere I looked were happy faces and sounds of laughter. The morning went by so quickly.

Time for the finishing touches!

After a mammoth task of individually doing up each button on the back of the dress it was time for Lois to greet her Dad.

This was such a lovely moment to capture, Lois’s dad looked so proud!

I have previously photographed a wedding the Parish Church in Ulverston and it has since become one of my favourite local churches.

The entrance looked so colourful with tulips either side and the bright blue sky welcomed everyone.

It wasn’t long before the girls arrived, I loved the pastel colour dresses.

Inside, Adam waited patiently in the company of his best men and ushers.

Walking down the aisle hand in hand with her Dad to specially selected music.

Now all ceremony’s are special, but when the brides Uncle is able to conduct the ceremony for you it makes it extra special!

I love the picture below. I think it’s the “wow we just got married” reaction!

It was lovely to capture the interactions and natural moments while the bridal party watched Lois & Adam sign the register.

As the official paperwork was being completed the Guild choir sung for the congregation. It was a surprise for Lois & Adam.

Huge smiles as they walked down the aisle as Mr & Mrs Houlden!

The sun was beaming down as everyone congratulated the happy couple outside church.

Enjoying a journey in an old vintage car, Mr & Mrs Houlden arrived at their reception in style.

Cartmel Racecourse was a special place for the couple and a lovely setting to host their wedding reception.

The room literally took my breathe away when I went to photograph it. It was simple stunning.

While guests arrived and family photographs were taken everyone enjoyed listening to Becki Fishwick, a local singing star!

Time for some family photographs. I love this one of the girls!

With over a hundred guests it was great to have the height of the stand to take a big group photograph of everyone.

It was soon time for everyone to be seated and the speeches to begin.

I do love capturing everyone naturally and this was my perfect opportunity.

First up was Lois’s father, who told childhood stories and had everyone laughing.

Adam’s turn, and not only did he have everyone laughing, we all had an extra laugh at the presentation of the thank you flowers!

Double trouble! With two best men they closed the speeches with a few stories about the groom!

With the sunlight slowly disappearing it was time for some couple photographs in the grounds.

We enjoyed a lovely walk around the racecourse and these two were bursting with happiness!

Now I’m not one for cheesy photographs but this just had to be done!

With additional guests arriving for the evening, Lois & Adam cut their cake and took to the dance floor for their first dance.

It was lovely to capture all the bridal party joining them!

So much love to capture… and maybe even a little tear!

Lois & Adam, your day was an absolute pleasure to share and capture.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of it.

I hope your photographs bring back lots of happy memories of your special day.
