{Michelle & Mike Brown} 3 October 2015 {Dale Lodge Hotel, Grasmere}

I sometimes think that some weddings I blog don’t need any explanation or words…they speak for themselves.

These were my exact thoughts when I began blogging Michelle & Michael’s Autumnal Wedding in Grasmere.

However… I simply cannot share there day without a little commentary!

I joined Michelle on the morning of her wedding day at Dale Lodge Hotel in Grasmere. The morning started out a little misty but it wasn’t long before the bright sun started pouring through the windows.

Michelle’s simply stunning Jenny Packham dress hung beautifully in the window as I captured all the little details.

Surrounded by her bridesmaids and Mum the girls enjoyed a relaxing morning getting ready.

The flowers looked beautiful and were a perfect Autumnal mix. I especially loved the little berries!

The morning went by so quickly and it was soon time for the final preparations.

The girls looked stunning in their dresses, all different but matched perfectly.

It was so lovely to be able to capture these moments.

Especially when Michelle’s Dad joined us ready to escort his daughter down the aisle.

I love Autumn at the best of times but to be able to capture an outdoor ceremony was perfection! I was just as excited as everyone else!

“Come on Mike, I know its the most important day of your life but lets go play in the leaves!”

As the guests were all seated it wasn’t long till Michelle appeared with her Bridesmaids and Dad.

The setting was just perfect as Michelle & Mike exchanged their vows.

With the help of my lovely second shooter we were able to capture both Michelle & Mike and their guests during the ceremony.

When the ceremony came to a close I came back to the end of the aisle to get this photo showing off Michelle & Mike’s ceremony setting.

It was lovely to go around and capture everyone congratulating the happy couple and socialising together.

With just a few formal photographs taken in the grounds it gave us plenty of time to capture everyone enjoying the late summer sun outside.

It’s hard to pick one favourite but this photo below is close!

I love the little moment these two are sharing!

With time on our side it was nice to be able to capture different angles as we walked through the gardens.

Although every time I look at this photo I think poor Mike’s shoes! I’m glad you got them dried out 🙂

It wouldn’t be an Autumnal wedding without throwing some leaves!

…and if it creates a lovely natural photograph staright after, why not!

With homemade cakes to keep the hunger & cold away I captured everyone outside.

I love taking photographs of wedding rings.  This one just sums it all up in one photo 🙂

Inside looked just as beautiful as the outside with the rustic table settings.

I was so happy I managed to capture this moment!

“Thanks for the kiss Auntie Shell”

Time for the speeches!

Full of love, laughter and a few tears!

After the meal I took Michelle & Mike for a walk to a nearby Park to capture the last of the evening light.

I’m glad we took the time out to do this… the combination of light, colours and a lovely couple was perfection for a photographer 🙂

My favourite weddings are the ones that allow me to not only capture the couple but to capture the surroundings and beautiful place that they got married in too. This can sometimes be forgotten or missed for one reason or another. So thank you Michelle & Mike for taking the time and trusting me that getting dirty, walking that extra bit, or having leaves thrown at you is worth it 🙂

When we returned to Dale Lodge everything was set up ready for the evening entertainment.

Little did we know a power cut would occur!

That didn’t stop anything though… with the ambient candle lighting and an ipad for music it brought everyone together even more!

As I left Michelle & Mike in their candle lit night doo I knew they would have a fantastic evening.

It was a true pleasure to be able to capture and share their day. They began as clients and now they are friends and that’s another reason why I love my job!
