{David & Lynn Dougan} St.Mary’s Church Cleator & The Woolpack Inn Eskdale {6 December 2014}

I LOVE a Christmas winter wedding! Especially when its filled with hand warmers, pub food, roaring fires and a fun couple!

With lots of handmade details at the reception and the focus of a relaxed and warming day it was perfect.

I met with Lynn and her bridesmaids while they were all getting ready at her home in Cleator. We were made to feel so welcome and soon realised what a small world it is.

Lynn’s dress hung beautifully in the window upstairs.

The colours of Lynn’s flowers were perfect for the winter themed wedding.

The morning getting ready went by so quickly. It was soon time for Lynn to walk down the stairs and put the finishing touches together.

One of Lynn’s closest friends had made all the jewellery for the wedding. It was delicate and detailed and was the perfect touch.

Looking beautiful and ready to set off to the church

As I arrived at St. Mary’s Church everyone had gathered inside to keep warm. I did manage to get David out for a few photographs before the girls arrived.

David & Lynn’s Wedding transport was brilliant! It suited them perfectly and was a highlight to the day.

Lynn’s niece and nephew all ready to walk down the aisle together.

Arriving in style!

Before I went into the church myself I had to capture one last photo of Lynn as a Fitzwilliam. Her brother proudly walking her down the aisle.

I LOVE this collection of photographs. As Lynn walks down the aisle, David waits nervously but with a huge smile on his face!

The ceremony was lovely, intimate and full of love laughter and a few tears!

I even managed to capture the exchange of rings!

These two were too cute not to capture!

Walking out of the church as Husband and Wife!

The weather was holding out as guests made their way out of the church to congratulate the new Mr & Mrs Dougan!

We took the opportunity to capture some family photographs in front of the church doors.

You can’t beat a fun confetti shot!

As David & Lynn stood in the doorway together, surrounded by their guests I captured this natural photograph of them both. It’s one of my favourites from their day.

And then they were off! Making their way along the country roads to their Reception, the Woolpack Inn at Eskdale.

We stopped off along the way for some photographs, at this point the rain was still holding off!

Another favourite. I love the colours and perspective of this photograph. I think it really sums up how happy they both are too!

This photograph below HAS to win. It sums  up David & Lynn and their Wedding Day perfectly.

As we got to the base of Hard Knott Pass the rain had begun. We didn’t let it dampen the mood though and we managed to get some fun and creative shots.

We arrived at the Woolpack as canapés were being served and everyone was sat around the fires and chatting in groups. The atmosphere was brilliant.

So much thought and time had gone into the decorations and table settings. I loved the wood centrepieces!

Time for the speeches, another one of my favourite moments to capture.

Every direction I looked everyone had a smile on their face.

It’s a brilliant time to capture natural photographs. The two photos above I captured just after David had done his speech.

Another great personal touch was the cake! It was very impressive!

After the meal we got some more family and friend photographs.

We even managed to get a big group photograph of everyone while the room was getting set up for the night do!

Time for the music and dancing to begin!

The photo booth props went down very well with guests too!

I think David wanted to DJ his own night doo!

David & Lynn took to the dance floor for their first dance as Husband and Wife.

and it wasn’t long before they were joined by their guests 🙂

As we left guests dancing the night away and enjoying fresh pizza’s from the pizza oven I knew that everyone was going to have a great night celebrating.

It was a pleasure to capture David & Lynn’s Wedding. I especially loved their enthusiasm for their photographs and not being scared by a little bit of rain! It was worth it 🙂

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy your photographs for many years to come and they bring back lots of happy memories of your day.
