{Mr & Mrs Allwood} St Mary Magdalene’s Church Broughton in Furness & Belmount Hall, Hawskhead {31 May 2014}

I love photographing a wedding in my local village. There is such a lovely community spirit and it’s great to see lot’s of people coming out to catch a glimpse of the happy couple! St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Broughton is beautiful inside and out. The roses were fully out in the church grounds and the flag was flying high for Helen & Laurence’s Wedding.

I joined Helen at her family home. I was made to feel so welcome as soon as I walked through the door. There was a lovely hustle and bustle as family got ready, flowers were delivered, biscuits taken to the church for the choir and ham sandwiches to feed everyone!

Even the village window cleaner wanted to see what was happening!

Without a cloud in the sky, I met Laurence and his ushers at the church. The light was lovely as it filtered through the trees and guests began to arrive.

With her dad by her side Helen arrived at church in a lovely vintage car.

I love capturing those last few moments before going into the church.

Laurence waited patiently at the end of the aisle with his best man by his side.

The ceremony photographs are some of my favourites  from Helen & Laurence’s wedding, I think they speak for themselves! Here is a collection…..

I know that music is such an important part to Helen’s family and it was lovely to hear the choir signing during the service.

Officially Mr & Mrs Allwood!

With the sun shining bright, everyone came out of the church to congratulate the happy couple!

I love a good confetti shot!

Helen & Laurence had their reception at Belmount Hall on the outskirts of Hawkshead. This was the first time I had photographed a wedding there. The Grade II listed Georgian house looked beautiful and the service, food and hospitality was excellent.

This is one of my favourite photographs from the day. Helen’s Mum and Grandma arriving at the Reception with full smiles on their faces!

With the front lawn in front of the house as the perfect setting we took some family photos.

There’s always one guest that helps make the formal photos more fun!

With the afternoon light shining through the trees it was the perfect time to have a walk around the grounds and take some portraits.

The tables were decorated simply and elegantly and with the bright light shining through the windows the room looked amazing!

I imagine doing a speech is scary enough, but when the final versions of the speech are left in a car near the Church it was time to improvise & hope you have a good memory! Well Done!

With the sun setting on a beautiful day, I took Helen & Lawrence back out into the golden evening light for some more photos.

It was soon time to cut the cake & start the evening party!

Helen’s brother and his band started the evening perfectly. The music was great and it got everyone on the dance floor!

Each wedding I photograph is different and it really is a pleasure to capture each one. Helen, Laurence and all their family and friends made me feel so welcome throughout the day. It was lovely to hear everyone’s comments on their guestbook which was filled with photographs from their Pre Wedding Shoot just a month before.

I can’t wait to start work on their album so that they can share and look back on all the photographs for years to come.
