{Matthew & Jeniffer McSkimmings} Chequers Hotel, Dalton In Furness {13 April 2013}

Back in May 2011 I photographed Liza & Scott’s wedding at the very same venue. At this point I met a lovely group of friends. In August 2012 I then had the pleasure of photographing Gemma & Lee’s wedding, another lovely couple from the group. After this Matthew & Jeniffer contacted me about photographing their special day in April 2013….. I wonder if we can keep the chain going? 🙂

I arrived at Chequers Hotel in Dalton In Furness early on the morning of Saturday 13 April. While Jeniffer was busy getting her hair done with her Mother, Cousin and Sister I captured a few of the details.

As time went on and the preparations were coming together I captured a few photographs of Jeniffer getting her make up done. I love photographing Bridal Prep on the morning of the wedding. It’s such a lovely relaxed time and Jeniffer enjoyed spending it with her close family.

I love this photograph below of Jeniffer’s smile once her make up was complete!  Doesn’t she look beautiful!

Jeniffer and Matt had a light green colour theme which looked so fresh and light.

With only a last few things to do before Jen went to meet her father it was time to get into her dress which had come all the way from her home in Ecuador.

From talking to Jeniffer before the wedding I realised how important her wedding photographs were. We planned a trip down to Furness Abbey once everyone was ready to get some extra family  photographs.

Once we were back at Chequers it was time for Jen to walk down the isle and get her first look at her husband to be!

Doesn’t he look handsome (and maybe a little nervous) 🙂

During the ceremony nothing could take the huge smiles from both of their faces! With lots of giggles and looks it was perfect!

Once it was official the new Mr & Mrs McSkimmings went outside with all their guests for some group photographs in the grounds.

We then went back to the Abbey to get some couples portraits before the rain came.

For the reception Jeniffer’s Mum had made some delicious nibbles with a Ecuador twist!

After a few photographs inside the venue it was time to sit down to listen to the speeches – one of my favourite parts of the day!

If you ask any Groom, Best Man or Father of the Bride I think they would say that doing their speech would be one of the most nerve racking parts of the day.

Matt & Jeniffer’s speeches were even more interesting as they were spoken in both English and Spanish!

It was lovely to listen to the effort each of them had made for each side of the family listening.

After a lovely meal it was time for Matt & Jen to do their first dance as Husband and Wife. All throughout the day you can see the love and happiness in their faces 🙂

It was a pleasure to photograph Matthew & Jeniffer’s special day and lovely to catch up with Liza & Scott and Gemma & Lee who’s weddings I had previously photographed. Who’s going to be next in the group I wonder?

Best wishes and have a wonderful wedding back in Ecuador later this year too.
