Rachel & Karl Barton {17 Dec 2011}

On the 17th December 2011 I had the privilege to photograph Rachel & Karl’s Wedding. They got married at Urswick Chuch, one of the oldest churches in Cumbria.

As we waited outside the church for the arrival of the bride I captured this close up of their wedding rings….

After a slightly longer wait than planned, Rachel arrived with her Mum by her side. I think she looks so beautiful getting out of the car ready to become Mrs Barton…

After a little wait at the alter Karl’s face lit up when he saw his bride to be. The smiles on their faces didn’t dissapear all day.

The service was intimate and personal with just 24 guests in total.

I love this photograph below of the choir singing while Rachel & Karl went to sign the register. ..

With the service finished it was time to walk back down the isle as Mr & Mrs Barton….

After the service we all headed of to Eden Lodge just outside of Ulverston. With the temperatures close to freezing even in the afternoon we quickly gathered everyone together for a group photograph outside.

and not forgetting their 3 beautiful children!

With the sun going down on a crisp winter’s day we popped back outside to get the last of the winter sunlight and some family photographs.

When I first met up with Rachel she told me that she wanted natural photographs that captured their special day. As well as some lovely photographs of the kids Rachel also asked if I could make sure I got some good ones of her Husband Karl.

There really didn’t seem to be a moment where this couple wern’t smiling all day which made my job seem easy!

This photograph below is another of my favourites from the day. As the guests were starting to leave it was time to say their goodbyes. I managed to capture this cute moment with Tegan and her Grandma…

As the day was drawing to a close, there was one little person who we needed to include in the photographs……

With each wedding that I do I meet new people and make new friends along the way and this wedding was no exception. I wish Rachel & Karl all the best for their married life together – I hope that our paths cross again when your new arrival is born and Rachel can enjoy her wedding night doo with some celebratory drinks!
