12 things for 2012….

My 12 little or even big things for 2012 ….

Number One…

has to be for Byron and I to buy our own house. I know it’s something you can’t rush ( and I have been patient now for a couple of years!) BUT getting our own house lets so many other things happen…..

Number Two…

is for my photography business to keep growing…. I feel overwhelmed with the support and business I have had over the last two years and for my little business to keep growing more each year would put a huge smile on my face.

Number Three…

With a full time job and running my own business my social life has taken a huge back seat over the last 2 years. Therefore, this year I make it a mission to get back some of that time and plan in more time to spend with my friends 🙂 I have a holiday in May booked for a week in Scotland with a big group of friends which is a great start!

Number Four…

Following on from the lack of social life, I have made a pact with myself that Byron and I should try and spend at least 1 weekend a month having some “us” time!  This month we are going out for a day in the Lakes and a walk in the winter sun!

Number Five…

UPDATE MY BLOG! I must spend more time updating my website and my blog. At the moment I blog each wedding I do, but ideally I would like to post something new each month, like a monthly update! So…that leaves me with 2 December weddings and a January blog post to do….. hmmmm

Number Six…

My studio…. at present this is my living room! So, if number one target goes to plan I want to have the studio as a private room, with photographs on the walls and a happy and comfortable place for people to come to have their photograph taken.

Number Seven…

Ok, so a goals/resolution isn’t complete without a lose weight target! Last week was the start of the diet, and I managed to loose 4lbs! At the moment I am “watching what I eat” but as long as I can gradually lose weight and maintain the loss I’ll be happy 🙂

Number Eight…

I have so many photography books and magazine that are waiting to be read… I would like to be able to spend more time doing this and having some “practice” days where I take a friend out and I get to try out all my new ideas and experiment with my camera more! If they work, then I’ll use them, if they dont, it was fun trying!

Number Nine…

Try on a wedding dress! Yes…. I’m getting married! It may be a couple of years off yet, but as soon as part of number 7 is done I’d love to go wedding dress shopping! Bridesmaids at the ready!

Number Ten…

Extend the Mitchell/Carpenter household…..and NO I don’t mean have a baby! I REALLY want a dog! Living without one sucks! I stuck this photo to the kitchen fridge as a hint! (however this is also dependant on number one happening)

Number Eleven…

Establish a back up system! Currently I am storing everyone’s photographs for all the photo shoots and weddings I have ever done, which is A LOT of photographs! So I’m going to put a plan in place and stick to it!

Number Twelve…

Is to reduce my hours at my day job… otherwise I am never going to have time to achieve all of the above!

SIMPLES…..:/

So… if I can manage to buy a house, keep my photography business growing, increase my social life and time with Byron, update my blog and create my studio, loose weight, keep learning, try on a wedding dress and look after a dog, all with reduced hours at my full time job then ……. I think 2012 is going to be a successful year!
