Sara & James Brakewell say {i do} – 6 August 2011

Sara Hyde’s wedding was one I was especially looking forward to. Not only was I official photographer, I was official guest too! I met Sara in school and after spending all our 6th form days together in L9. I think it’s safe to say we wouldn’t have guessed Sara to be the first one in our group to get married. However shortly after 6th form…and with a little help from Cupid Jenny, Sara and James fell in love!

On the morning of the wedding I arrived at Sara and James’s house. After successfully dodging the dog who was guarding the house I was welcomed by Sara and her bridesmaids who were busy getting ready.

After a busy morning which seemed to fly by, it was off to the Coot on the Tarn at Urswick where Sara & James were getting married. Her bridesmaids were waiting patiently and the groom and his ushers all ready…

The service was short but lovely, with the exchanging of rings and the register signed it was time to walk down the else as MR & MRS Brakewell…. Only Sara’s nearly lost something along the way! Haha.

Capturing that first look at his wife to be…..

Sara’s Dad giving her away to James…..

It looks like I have some assistants…..

All smiles walking back down the aisle as the new Mr & Mrs Brakewell

After a celebratory glass of buck’s fizz it was time to venture outside into the grounds for group photos… although it can sometimes be a hassle to get everyone together for a large group photo and getting all the family members together for each picture it is worth it in the end….. here are a collection of photos that we took, making great use of the self-timer in some photos near the end!

this one’s just for Steph 🙂

Who says you cant be a photographer and a guest……

Sometimes on your wedding day it can all go by so fast that it’s nice to sit and have 10minites to spend together…..

I remember Sara telling me on her Hen Night that her and James had something rather special planned for their first dance… They had both learnt a dance routine! This was such a lovely touch to a beautiful day, I must admit I did have a tear in my eye as Sara & James were doing their first dance, it was so moving and as I looked around everyone had a smile on their face.

Sadly I had to leave the wedding shortly after their first dance as I had another wedding to photograph the following day, but after meeting up with Sara to show her the wedding photographs she tells me that she wouldn’t have changed anything about the day….which brought a smile to my face. Congratulations again to you both, I’m sure you will have a wonderful life as Husband and Wife. xxx
