{ Ian & Margo } 4 June 2011

I woke up to the familiar sound of my alarm on the morning of Saturday 4th June. First thought – I need more sleep…it’s far too early. Second thought, IT’S IAN AND MARGO’S WEDDING DAY, the sky is blue and the sun is shining!

To me this wasn’t just a wedding to photograph, I was also a guest. So after making myself look half decent at 6am in the morning, Byron and I set off on the trip to St. Bees where the wedding was to be held.

I must admit, I was probably more nervous about photographing this wedding than I have been for a while. With most of Byron’s family going to be there, and knowing the Bride and Groom personally the pressure was on. With a few words of encouragement and reassurance from Byron I was soon in my element photographing Margo and her Bridesmaids getting ready.

After a morning of getting ready, filled with a lot of laughs and tears, it was time for the beautiful Miss Margo May Steadman to be Mrs Mitchell.

The ceremony was simply beautiful. Elaine, the grooms sister read a poem by AA.Milne  and if everyone didn’t have a tear in their eye after, they sure did after Martha singing Adele’s Make you feel my love.

Martha – you’re amazing, to have the confidence to get up in front of all those people and sing so beautifully is incredible, you should be very proud of yourself.

(Byron & I are getting married in 2015……)

After everyone had congratulated the new Mr & Mrs Mitchell, it was time for a quick group photo before sitting down to eat. Can anyone spot the planker?

And let’s not forget that special guest…

Photographing the speeches has to be one of my favourite parts of the day. With a combination of funny stories, secrets, and embarrassing moments revealed – it’s great capturing everyone’s emotions.

After our meal, it was time to finish the group photographs down on St.Bees beach. Below are some of my favourites photographs from the day. It was so much fun and everyone was so relaxed.

When I first met up with Ian & Margo to discuss their wedding photography package they said to me that they preferred natural photographs – I’m pretty sure this criteria was met!

On to the evening entertainment, where the band Deliverance got everyone up dancing, both with and without clothes on….

Ian & Margo – It truly was an honour and a privilege to photograph your wedding day. There isn’t one photograph that I took without a smile or happy expression on both of your faces. I wish  you all the happiness in your new life together as Husband and Wife.
